All Toronto Student Branches of CAFP including Ryerson, are participating in the annual CAFP Sock Drive which aims to gather the socks for local charities. CAFP Ryerson is collecting socks for Good Shepherd Ministries. Socks can be worn on the feet and can keep hands warm as well. You can read more about them and the work they do here http://www.goodshepherd.ca/
Are you interested in food security, social research, or would just like to volunteer for a good local cause? Interested individuals would attend an instruction session held at Wilson Hall, 40 Willowcocks St. on Feb.21 (2-4 pm), Feb.22 (4-6 pm), or Feb.23 (6-8 pm).

Want to show your CAFP Ryerson pride for a good cause?
CAFP Ryerson is competing against the other CAFP student branches for charity! Our goal is to collect as many “new socks” (no holes please and thank you) as possible for two Men’s Shelters in our area including the Good Shepherd in Toronto and the Welcome Centre in Guelph. Socks are always needed for feet and sometimes even hands, so the more socks we collect the more people we reach. Please drop them off at the School of Nutrition Office at KHS349 in the marked box.
The winning school will receive a trophy and prize (to be announced shortly) at the CAFP Student Awards Night on March 19th. Deadline for all socks donations is March 14th.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, executives and anyone who bought cake yesterday or made a donation! Our Cake Sale fundraiser was a HUGE success!!!! We sold 12 cakes! Everyone’s dedication and support was phenomenal! I didn’t realize we had such an incredibly talented group of sales people on our hands.
THANK YOU to all who came out to our fundraiser on Oct 13, 2011 in support of breast cancer research. We were able to raise just over $1000 in just under 5 hours! All proceeds have been donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. We could not have done this without the help of our volunteers and your generous donations.
